Define “LIFE” using only 3 words. Go ahead, I’ll wait.
What words did you choose?
Recently my daughter (9th grader at Verona Area High School) Abbey was given this assignment; in choir! They were producing a music video. The song they performed would provide the background music for the video, and then one-by-one the students, standing on the choral risers, would hold up their definition of LIFE using three sheets of poster board: one word for each board. Abbey defined LIFE this way: “Jesus”…..”loves”……..”you!”
Those are three pretty significant words, don’t you think? Jesus loves you! Pretty much sums up LIFE!
As we begin a new year it seems appropriate that each of us would do this assignment. You can copy Abbey’s answer if you’d like! Once you have clarity on your three words ask yourself this question: “What would it look like for you to ACT on your three-word definition? “ As you think about new beginnings this New Year, What would your definition lead you to change? What would you do more of? What would you keep doing? What would you stop doing?
This is my New Year’s wish for each of you: that you would be able with clarity to define your LIFE in three words, ACT on that definition consistently, and with boldness give glory to God!
A Blessed and Christ-filled New Year!
Jesus loves you!
