Courageous Generosity

Thanks, friend, for the push to get back at the blog!! You know who you are. Love it!!

Generosity.......courageous generosity...Who comes to mind? Who has modeled courageous generosity in your life? What stories could you share?

Here's the truth about courageous generosity:
1) God started it! (John 3:16; Romans 8:31-32)
2) Now, He invites us to join Him in His courageously generous nature and experience the
JOY of being courageously generous ourselves!

Have you ever met an unhappy, bitter, judgemental, truly, courageously generous person? Hmmm....maybe there's a connection......maybe we can experience true JOY for ourselves as we generously share our lives (every part of them...including our money!) with God and with others!

What will courageous generosity look like for you?

One final thought for today: I cannot think of one downside to generosity. But, there must be a downside; otherwise there wouldn't be all of this fear, all of this anxiety when it comes to our money!

When I think of "courageous generosity" I think first of my mom and dad. They were - and are - generous with their love, their time, and (when they can) with their money.

I also think of my wife and sons. My grandmother and aunts.

Then there are family members at church. My friends from college and seminary.

The list goes on and on.

The "downside" of CG is that it takes times and effort. And when we are so busy with "stuff" (some "stuff" legitimate, some not-so-much) it is hard to find the time to do more.

I must remember that God STARTED with CG. That's where He begin. All the works of God are results or are motivated by His CG.
