A wise man once said, "Show me what you measure, and I'll show you what is important to you." The tension that exists for me in measuring success in ministry is that the "scorecards" (a term used frequently by Reggie McNeal) we have traditionally used do not seem to be giving us an accurate read on the effectiveness of our ministry. Traditionally we have been evaluated/ measured by number of members, or worship attendance, or bible class attendance, or size of budget, or size of facility. I think we really need to re-evaluate our "scorecards."

I believe that we need to be more concerned with who is with us on mission in the world rather than how many people show up on Sunday. Here's a question I'd like you to give some input on: How do you "count" or measure who is with you on mission?
